The YWCA Women’s Crisis Center Children’s Program was initiated through concern for children who have been exposed to a violent environment. The purpose of the program is to provide care and recreation for these children, while at the same time encouraging positive behavior patterns.
This positive approach offers alternatives to a life that may have been dominated by violence, and that has falsely taught children that physical force is a successful way to get what is wanted.
The needs of the children are of prime importance and focusing on their feelings is highly encouraged.
